Bienvenue sur le site Osiris Project

  • 2010-09-15 - The Publishable Final Activity Report is available for download
The main achievements and the dissemination activities of the whole OSIRIS project are published in this report.
  • 2010-05-20 - Successful final review meeting
A successful final OSIRIS project review meeting has been held on May 20, 2010 in Kuurne, Belgium

All targeted OSIRIS projection systems have been realized:

    • 6” slim RPTV of 50” diagonal

    • Glasses-less slim 3D RPTV

    • Glasses-less 3D cinema front projection display

    • LED based tiled rear projection system (Large Format display)

    • Laser illuminated LCOS projector.

Most of the innovative components (LED, LASER, SCREENS) could be integrated in the prototypes.

Great advance in Multi View content creation and rendering through study of the plenoptic concept and the realization of two different approaches to realize a multi camera rig.
  • 2010-03-01 - OSIRIS shows new compact 3D Rear Projection System and Laser LCOS Projector at SPIE Photonics Europe
The OSIRIS projected has been selected for the Photonics Europe Innovation Village in Brussels: 2010, April 13-15.

Two projection systems will be shown: The new and compact 3D Rear Projector that allows to watch 3D without glasses and the laser illuminated LCOS front projector.

The demonstrations can be found at booths No. 8 and No. 22 in the Innovation Village.

Exhibition Dates and Hours during the at the SPIE Photonics Europe conference

    Tuesday 13 April 10.00 to 17.00

    Wednesday 14 April 10.00 to 17.00

    Thursday 15 April 10.00 to 14.00
  • 2009-11-19 - OSIRIS amendment - 4 months extension
The European commission agreed to the extension request for the OSIRIS project. The new duration is now 40 months ending end of April 2010. This additional time will allow to fine-tune the prototypes and to present the obtained results at different locations.
  • 2009-09-14 - OSIRIS at EURODISPLAY 2009 in Rome
3 scientific papers will be presented at the EURODISPLAY 2009 conference in Rome. Two presentations deal with laser projection (“Laser projector speckle measurements” and “LCoS Laser Projector”) and one with real time natural 3D content displaying with HoloVizio displays.
  • 2009-06-16 - Barco announces color-stable, LED-lit rear-projection video wall display
Barco's OL video wall series with unique Sense6 calibration and stabilization technology offers truly maintenance-free viewing. The development of the color management technology featured in Barco's OL video wall series has been partly supported by funding from the EU FP6 Osiris Integrated Project
  • 2009-06-10 - "No more geeky glasses to watch 3D"
Recent article published in ICT Results at http://cordis.europa.eu/ictresults/index.cfm?section=news&tpl=article&BrowsingType=Features&ID=90639
  • 2009-01-29 - OSRAM LED achieve outstanding performance within the EU-founded OSIRIS project
Within the R&D program, researchers at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors realised novel LED light sources. Based on OSRAM's OSTAR Projection platform, the prototype delivers 3300 red lumen, 3500 green lumen and 18 W of blue light. The challenge was to increase the possible power density by a factor of 3 while maintaining high efficiency and reliability.
  • 2008-12-03 - HoloVizio 3D display wins Best Exhibit Award in ICT 2008 exhibition, Lyon, France
The HoloVizio 3D glassless cinema system, developed by the Hungarian Holografika Ltd. in the FP6 ICT project OSIRIS won the Best Exhibit Award Silver Prize based on visitors’ votes on the ICT2008 show organized under the French presidency on 25-27 November 2008 in Lyon.
  • 2008-04-24 - 2 OSIRIS partners founding members of the 3D@Home Consortium : 2008, Apr 24
Thomson and Holografika, two partners of the OSIRIS project working on 3D related Work Packages, have recently become members of the 3D@Home Consortium created on April 15th in Las Vegas in the frame of the NAB. 23 Companies working in 3D areas are part of the Consortium including Philips, Samsung and Disney. The mission statement of this group is to speed the commercialization of 3D into homes worldwide and provide the best possible viewing experience by facilitating the development of standards, roadmaps and education for the entire 3D industry – from content, hardware and software providers to consumers.
